life + the Perfect Leopard Print Cap

Wow- can’t believe it’s been over a year since my last blog post! Life got busy and other priorities took precidence so blogging was the last thing on my mind! In the last year I started working as Creative Director for Brittany Mondrinos Consulting, a Philadelphia based Digital Marketing company ran by my friend and colleague, Brittany Mondrinos, I transitioned my son into Kindergarten and, gulp, finalized my divorce. All have been life-changing experiences and I’m happy to say have been for the better.

So now that I’ve come up for air, I’ve had time to get back to what I love: styling. Spring is around the corner, so I’ve taken every chance to wear some of my favorite pieces before retiring them for the season. This leopard print cap has been a staple for me that adds an easy pop to any casual outfit.

When I’m heading out the door to run errands or pick my son up from school, this hat has been my go-to. It does the trick on bad hair days and instantly adds something special to my usual all monochrome look.

Olivia's Latest Obsession / Faux Fur

Faux fur is topping everyone's top trend list for winter 2018, so it's no surprise it's popping up everywhere right now! New iterations like colored and embellished fur are just a few ways I'm seeing the trend continue into holiday, but my favorite version is featured in winter white. Pairing a novel faux fur coat or jacket over a dress or leather legging is perfect for a special night out, but I'm loving the juxtaposition of this piece with denim for a completely down-town look.

This H&M winter white faux fur jacket was a steal! I layered it was a denim shirt and classic jean for a modern tough. A novel faux fur piece adds a bit of drama to a head-to-toe denim look– it's perfect for a girls night out when paired with heels or can be styled with a sneaker for fun fall brunch look.

Everyday Essentials / The Oversized Sweatshirt

A weekend favorite of mine, the oversized sweatshirt is an essential piece that's been doing some serious double duty in my wardrobe lately. I picked up this Topshop drop shoulder version at Nordstrom a few weeks ago and have been pairing it with leggings, a leather jacket, and Nike trainers during the week when I'm in mom-mode. Last weekend, however, I opted to style it with my favorite black jean and edgy accessories to take the look into evening.

In a classic winter white color, this sweatshirt looks sleek with a destructed black jean or coated legging. I also love that it's a comfy alternative to a blouse for a winter weekend night out.

Willa Skye Pillow Update

I'm a sucker for a fabulous printed toss pillow. I'm sure you can relate! Toss pillows are an easy way to add a bit of color and texture to any room in the house with minimal effort and money spent. I came across this fantastic home decor brand, Willa Skye Home, when looking for new pillows to update my living room. Designed and made in Southern California, Willa Skye offers quality home goods in unique yet sophisticated prints. 

Since simple black and white motifs are my signature, I fell in love with these pillow covers immediately! Paired together they make for an interesting combo and work perfectly with other neutrals in my living room, like my charcoal sofa, and gold accents. I plan on updating my accents soon and know these beauties will work nicely with anything for my next update!
